Why is career & college readiness important?
Career Awareness 9th Grade
Activities focus on an understanding of the skills necessary to be successful in the workplace. This includes learning about the skills necessary for work-based learning experiences such as internships and or pre-apprenticeship. Students will also investigate career options to give them the information needed to make informed decisions as they continue through high school and post secondary education.
Sample Student Learning Outcome
Students are able to give examples
of how his/her skills and interests relate to the career fields/occupations. Students are capable of demonstrating sophisticated communication skills representative of the workplace.

Experiences might include:
online career related programs such as CFNC and Naviance
Classroom speakers series (Business Ethics, Presentation Techniques, Personal Branding , Dress for Success)
